INGREDIENTS:
1 can chilled coconut cream (can replace with organic heavy cream if dairy is tolerated)
1/4 cup cacao powder (can substitute cocoa powder)
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
OPTIONAL:
crushed nuts
DIRECTIONS:
If you are using an ice-cream maker:
Follow your ice cream makers instructions on preparing the pan
Once the pan is ready, add the coconut cream, raw cacao powder and pure maple syrup to a high speed blender and blend until fully combined
Add any additional mix-ins and blend very lightly for a few seconds.
Transfer ice cream mix to the ice cream maker pan and proceed with your ice cream maker instruction
If you are not using an ice cream maker:
Place a small deep pan in the freezer.
In a high speed blender, add the coconut cream, raw cacao powder and pure maple syrup. and blend until fully combined.
Add any additional mix-ins and blend very lightly for a few seconds.
Transfer ice cream mix to the pan and place in the freezer
To ensure it doesn't become too icy, lightly mix your ice cream ever 20-30 minutes for the first hour.
It is best if you thaw for 10-15 minutes before eating. Lightly wet an ice cream scoop before scooping the ice cream into a bowl.
Let it thaw to desired texture., for soft serve.
